2 categories: Food Packaging, Sustainable Packaging

Punchbowl Packaging has made the finals of the Australia and New Zealand Packaging Innovation & Design Awards. The awards celebrate innovation and we are in the running for both the Food Packaging and Sustainable Packaging categories.

We made the finals with our wheat straw punnets, used by in New Zealand and offshore by Kaituna Berries. This is valuable recognition of our team’s work to develop fibre-based, compostable, resealable punnets, with significantly lower plastic content. The punnets also extend the shelf life of the blueberries.

The winners will be announced 30th April 2019.

Punchbowl Packaging general manager Shane Craig says it is a huge honour for a family-owned Kiwi company to be footing it with some of Australasia’s largest packaging companies, in the key space of sustainable packaging.

“I’m so proud of our team – they have been relentless in their pursuit of packaging innovations which work for our customers and the environment, and it feels like this is just the beginning of what promises to be an exciting journey.”
